Frontiersman

For this highly detailed artwork I have used graphite pencil on Bristol board. It was very challenging to create the several different types of fur and hair. I also put a lot of effort into the detail, the Scrimshawed powder horn, the bead work on his bag, the snakeskin sheath for his bone handled knife.

The horse is based on one who resides up the road from me and I researched a lot to find several examples of clothing I could work from. For the mans face I loosely based his likeness on myself.

All of these elements have come together to make what I think is a very pleasing image. It will be presented bevel mounted in black and framed in a 3 inch wide natural wood frame, ready to hang.
