Hondo

I chose this image of Big John from the 1953 movie Hondo as I’ve always been a big fan and I haven’t seen any other attempts at this particular scene. I’ve had a copy of this movie still for some time but it’s of such poor quality I knew I was going to have to ‘create’ a lot of the detail myself. I’m pleased with the result, it’s 16 x 11 inches and I’ve added a slight sepia tint in PS to finish for forthcoming prints.

A bit of trivia, legend has it that after filming, John Wayne won the dog (Sam) from it’s owner in a poker game and kept it. Those were the days.......
