'Courageous' is a highly detailed pencil portrait of a male African lion, completed with graphite pencils on Hahnemühle nostalgie paper. This is a lightly textured off-white paper that allows for high detail yet can take many layers of pigment, thus enabling the full range of tones from pale silvery grey to rich jet black.
Measuring approximately 14.5 x 11 inches. This drawing is presented in a white mount that has a black core which frames the image in a fine dark rectangle. It is framed within a one and a quarter inch, lightweight, distressed silver gilt frame to a total size of about 20.5 x 17 inches, ready to hang.
