A hand carved, leaf shaped fruit bowl. This beautiful bowl has been hand carved from a solid piece of Okan wood, a lesser known African hardwood. I originally salvaged this as a vintage, crudely carved object which I redesigned and repurposed. After many hours work it has now been transformed into this stunning, unique and decorative piece. After carving, using several coats of sanding sealant I've obtained a silky smooth lustre to the surface before finishing with beeswax, making it irresistibly tactile.
The bowl measures 16 x 9 x 4 inches and makes a stunning centrepiece for the dining table, sideboard or kitchen.
